Bluesky plays a video as a stream in a few sizes. The list shows those sizes with their file sizes, and the MP4 is the best H.264 copy among them, so it plays on any phone or computer.

Paste the link of a Bluesky post that has a video, and the sizes that video is available in appear. Choose one to save an MP4, or switch to MP3 to keep only the sound. To get the link, open the post's share menu and choose Copy link to post; the address looks like bsky.app/profile/name/post/ followed by a code.
Bluesky does not hand out the file that was uploaded. It plays videos as a stream in a few sizes, and those sizes are what can be saved. In our test the post offered 720p and 360p, and the 720p download came out as a 30-second H.264 video at 1280x720 with AAC sound, which plays on any phone, TV or computer. The size of each copy is shown before you save.
The Audio tab turns the video into an MP3 at 64, 128, 256 or 320 kbps, with the post's thumbnail as the cover. It is handy for a song clip, a speech or anything you want to hear rather than watch.
On an iPhone, open this page in Safari and paste the link. The MP4 goes to the Files app; tap Share, then Save Video, to put it in Photos. On Android, use Chrome and the file lands in Downloads. On a computer any current browser works, and nothing needs installing.
Only download videos you made, have permission to save, or that are clearly licensed for reuse. This site has no connection with Bluesky.
