Video pins saved before they vanish from your boards

The video, not the bookmark

A saved pin is a link to someone else's upload, and it dies when they delete it. This page saves the clip itself as an MP4, so a recipe or a workout stays in your own library.

Voiceover as MP3

Keep just a recipe's narration from the Audio tab.

Idea Pins, page by page

You get the video from the page you linked, not the whole story.

Image pins say so

A pin with no video is reported plainly rather than faked.

Look for the original

Many pins are re-uploads, and the source platform often has a sharper copy.

How to download a Pinterest video

1

Copy the pin link

Share icon, then Copy link; short pin.it links work.

2

Paste it above

The pin is read and its video found.

3

Choose MP4 or MP3

The clip, or just its sound.

4

Keep it in your project folder

Watch it offline at the stove, the workbench or the gym.

Download Pinterest videos in HD

Pinterest keeps several copies of every video pin, from a small 240p version up to the full-size file. Many downloaders hand you whichever copy they find first. This one asks for the sharpest copy Pinterest has, so a recipe or a tutorial comes out in HD, up to 1080p when the pin was uploaded that way. In our test on a real video pin that meant a 1080x1920 file, where a height-based pick would have returned 480x852.

The file is an ordinary MP4 with H.264 video and AAC sound, so it plays on an iPhone, an Android phone, a smart TV and in any video editor. There is no 4K option because Pinterest does not store video pins in 4K, and no tool can give you more detail than the pin contains.

How to download Pinterest videos on iPhone, Android or a computer

In the Pinterest app, open the video pin, tap the share icon and choose Copy link. That gives you a short pin.it address, which works here exactly like a full pinterest.com/pin/ link.

  • On an iPhone, paste the link here in Safari. The MP4 goes to the Files app, and from there you can save it to Photos.
  • On Android, the video lands in Downloads and shows up in your gallery.
  • On a computer, copy the pin's address from the browser bar and paste it here.

Pinterest video to MP3

Switch to the MP3 tab to keep only the sound: the voiceover from a recipe, the music behind a workout, or a talk you want to hear again without the screen. The MP3 is made from the video pin's own audio track, with the title and cover image filled in. If the pin has no sound, there is nothing to save as audio, and the MP4 is the better choice.

Video pins, Idea Pins and plain images

Pinterest has three kinds of pin that look alike on a board but behave differently. A video pin is one clip and downloads as one MP4, which is the usual case. An Idea Pin is a story with several pages: paste its link and you get the video from the page you linked, not the whole story joined together. An image pin has no video at all, so your browser's own save image option is the right tool, and this page tells you plainly that there is no video instead of pretending otherwise.

Where the clip came from

A lot of video pins are re-uploads from TikTok or Instagram, and Pinterest compresses them again. If the pin description or a logo in the corner points to the original creator, fetch that clip from the source with the TikTok downloader or the Instagram downloader. The original is usually sharper than the copy on Pinterest.

Why people save video pins

A saved pin is a bookmark to someone else's upload, and it stops working when they delete the pin or their account. Saving the video keeps it in your own library. People use it for cooking clips they watch at the stove without wifi, DIY and craft tutorials kept with a project, workout videos that should play at the gym without buffering, and their own pins when the original file is gone.

Frequently asked questions

Can I download videos from Pinterest?

Yes, from public video pins. Copy the pin link, paste it on this page and choose MP4 for the video or MP3 for the sound. Pins on secret boards and anything that needs a login cannot be downloaded.

Is this Pinterest video downloader free?

Yes. There is no account, no app to install and no watermark added to your file.

What quality do I get?

The sharpest copy Pinterest has for that pin, in HD and up to 1080p when the pin was uploaded at that size. Most video pins are portrait, so a full HD pin comes out as 1080x1920. Pinterest does not store 4K video, so no downloader can offer it.

Do pin.it short links work?

Yes. Paste either the short pin.it link from the app's share menu or the full pinterest.com/pin/ address.

How do I save a Pinterest video to my gallery?

On Android the MP4 goes to Downloads and appears in your gallery. On an iPhone it goes to the Files app, where you can tap Share and then Save Video to put it in Photos.

Can I convert a Pinterest video to MP3?

Yes. Choose the MP3 tab and you get the pin's own sound as an MP3 with the title and cover filled in. A pin without sound has no audio to convert.

Does the download have a watermark?

We do not add one. You get the video as Pinterest stores it. If the clip was re-uploaded from another app, any logo that was already part of the video stays in it.

Can I download pins from secret boards?

No. Secret boards are private, and content that needs a login cannot be fetched.

Can I download image pins or photos?

This page is for video pins. For a picture, your browser's long press or right click save option already gives you the full image.

Pinned something you need?

Paste the pin link above and save the video to your device.
