Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 11, 2026. This Privacy Policy explains what information YouTubeToMP3X ("we", "us", "the site") processes when you use this website, why we process it, and what rights you have. The short version: we are built to know as little about you as possible. There are no accounts, no download history tied to you, and converted files are deleted within minutes. The site is free because it shows advertising, and section 3 explains what that means for cookies and what choices you have.

Browser extension

YouTubeToMP3X also offers browser extensions for Chrome, Firefox, Edge and other supported browsers. They work differently from this website, so their privacy details are covered separately. View the Browser Extension Privacy Policy.

Windows desktop app

YouTubeToMP3X also has a Windows desktop app. It downloads and converts on your own computer, so the links you paste never reach our servers, which makes its privacy story different from the website. View the Desktop App Privacy Policy.

1. Information we process

Usage analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate traffic: which pages are visited, from which country, on what type of device, and how visitors found us. This data is aggregated and is never used by us to identify an individual person. Google's processing of analytics data is described in Google's Privacy Policy.

Advertising

We show advertising through Adsterra. Each ad runs in its own sealed frame inside a box marked "Sponsored", so it cannot read this page or what you type into it. Adsterra and the advertisers it works with may use cookies and similar identifiers inside that frame to serve ads, measure them and limit how often you see the same one, including ads based on your earlier visits to other sites. We do not give Adsterra the links you paste, the files you download or anything you type. Section 3 explains the choices you have.

Download records

When a tool is used, we record the link that was converted, the format, which tool page was used, the country the request came from and the time. We record the country only, not your IP address, and these records are not linked to an account or to you. We use them for statistics and to find and fix failures, and they are deleted after 90 days. A conversion that fails is recorded in the same way, together with the error message, also for 90 days.

Server and security logs

Like virtually every website, our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) for security, debugging and abuse prevention. They are kept for 7 days and are not used for marketing. To limit abuse we also count requests per IP address for a short time, up to an hour. Our site is fronted by Cloudflare, which processes connection data (including IP addresses) to provide DDoS protection and caching under Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

Human verification

Before a download starts, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that the request comes from a real browser. To do that, Cloudflare processes your IP address and technical details of your browser under the same Cloudflare policy. Turnstile is not used for advertising.

The links you paste

When you paste a video URL, our server must fetch that video from the source platform to process it. That is the service working as described. The link is recorded as described under "Download records" above.

Things you choose to send us

  • Problem board: if you post a report or a reply, the text and the name you give are shown publicly. An email address is optional on a report and required for a reply. It is never shown. We use it to contact you about your report and, occasionally, about the service.
  • Contact and feedback forms: we keep your message and the email address you enter, if any, so that we can answer.
  • Browser notifications: if you allow notifications, we store the subscription your browser creates (a technical address at your browser's push service, your browser type and your language) so that we can send them. Turning notifications off in your browser ends it.
  • Ratings, votes and posts: to count each visitor once and to limit spam, we store a one-way hash of your IP address with a rating, a vote or a post. The address itself is not stored with it.

Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link, and we do not send email to an address that has unsubscribed.

2. What we do NOT collect or do

  • We do not require accounts, names, email addresses or phone numbers to use any tool.
  • We do not keep the files you download: converted files are deleted from our servers automatically within minutes of delivery (see section 5).
  • We do not maintain a per-user download history.
  • We do not sell or rent personal data. Advertising cookies are set by Adsterra and its advertisers directly, as described in section 3.
  • We only have an email address for you if you gave us one on the problem board or in a contact form.

3. Cookies and advertising

Cookies on this site come from four places:

  • Google Analytics, to distinguish visits in aggregate.
  • Adsterra and its advertisers, inside the ad boxes, to serve and measure ads.
  • Cloudflare, to protect the site and to run the human verification check.
  • This site itself: one cookie that remembers your language choice. Other preferences, such as a prompt you dismissed, are kept in your browser's local storage.

About advertising cookies:

  • Adsterra and the advertisers it works with may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites, and to count views and clicks.
  • Adsterra explains how it handles this data in its privacy policy.
  • You can opt out of some vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices or, in Europe, at youronlinechoices.com.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Ads may then be less relevant to you.

4. Third-party platforms

Video content is fetched from the platform that hosts it (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X and others). Your relationship with those platforms, including anything they log when content is served, is governed by their own privacy policies. We send them only what is technically necessary to retrieve the content you requested; we never share who you are, because we do not know.

The footer shows a Trustpilot widget and a few partner badges. They load from those companies' servers when they come into view, so those companies receive your IP address and browser details, as with any embedded content.

5. Data retention

  • Converted files: deleted automatically a few minutes after delivery. A file that is never collected is deleted about 30 minutes after it is ready, and no file is kept longer than 3 hours.
  • Web server access logs: 7 days.
  • Download and error records: 90 days.
  • A copy of each email we send: 12 months.
  • Problem board posts, contact messages, ratings and votes: until you ask us to remove them or we remove them ourselves.
  • Notification subscriptions: until you turn notifications off or your browser discards the subscription.
  • Aggregate statistics: kept indefinitely, but contain no personal identifiers.

6. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA and similar)

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port personal data, to object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because we store very little about you, most of these requests are satisfied by design. If you posted on the problem board, sent us a message or gave us an email address, we can show you, correct or delete that on request. To exercise any right, email us at support@youtubetomp3x.com and we will respond within 30 days.

7. Children

This site is a general-audience tool and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and by design, we collect very little from anyone.

8. Security

All traffic to and from the site is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS. Processing servers are access-controlled, and converted files exist only briefly as described above.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and its "last updated" date. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
