Facebook's "Save video" button only bookmarks a video inside Facebook. It does not give you a file. This tool downloads public Facebook videos and Reels as real MP4 files in HD: paste the link, choose quality, and keep the video on your device, watchable without Facebook, an account, or an internet connection.
If you copied the link of a post that has a video inside it and it will not read, open the video on its own first and copy that address. It is the most reliable form.
Facebook keeps two copies of a video, and they are not just different sizes. We check each one before listing it, and on Facebook the result is usually this: the SD copy is H.264, which plays on any phone, TV or editor, while the HD copy is often VP9, which looks sharper but will not play on an iPhone, an iPad or in QuickTime on a Mac.
That is why each button says which codec you are about to get rather than leaving you to find out after the download. On an iPhone, take SD unless you are moving the file to a machine that handles VP9. On Windows or Android, HD plays fine.
Reels sit in their own part of Facebook and the link looks different, but the steps do not change.
Facebook reels download the same way as ordinary videos here, and nothing is added to the picture. Facebook does not stamp a watermark on reels the way TikTok does, so there is none to remove, and a reel that shows a logo was edited that way by whoever posted it.
Switch to the Audio (MP3) tab and the sound of the video or reel is converted on its own: a song, a speech, a podcast clip someone posted as video. The MP3 comes from that video's own audio track, so it carries whatever was in the clip and nothing more. There is no 320kbps option, because Facebook's audio arrives well below that and a larger file would hold the same sound.
Only public videos can be downloaded. Videos shared to Friends-only, private groups or Messenger require a login to view, and no legitimate downloader can (or should) fetch those, we never ask for your Facebook credentials. If a video will not download, open the link in a private browser window: if Facebook asks you to log in, that is the reason. On an iPhone, copy the link in the Facebook app, paste it here in Safari, and find the MP4 in the Files app. On Android it lands in Downloads and shows up in your gallery. On a computer it goes to your Downloads folder.
