Some Instagram videos exist as VP9 inside an MP4, which iPhones and QuickTime cannot play, so the file downloads and then will not open. We ask for the H.264 version first and use another copy only when a post has no H.264 one.

Instagram famously offers no download button, not even for your own Reels at full quality. This tool saves public Instagram videos and Reels as clean HD MP4 files: paste the post link, pick a quality, and the file is yours. You don't need to log in or install an app, and there is no watermark.
Some Instagram videos are stored as VP9 video inside an MP4 file. The file looks normal and downloads fine, but iPhones, iPads and QuickTime on a Mac cannot decode VP9, so it simply will not play. We ask Instagram for the H.264 version first, because that is the codec every Apple device, Android phone and editor handles, and fall back to another copy only when a post has no H.264 version at all.
Instagram compresses everything uploaded to it, so a downloaded Reel is a copy of what Instagram delivers rather than the creator's original file. The options you see come from Instagram's own versions of the post. For your own Reels, the file on your phone or in your editor is always the sharper master; a download is the way back when that file is gone.
Private accounts are off-limits. If a post requires following to view, no downloader can fetch it, and any site claiming otherwise wants your Instagram password (never give it). Stories and live broadcasts are separate formats with their own restrictions; standard video posts and Reels are what this tool handles.
On an iPhone, download in Safari and the file lands in the Files app; Share, then Save Video, puts it in Photos. On Android it appears in Downloads and your gallery. On a computer it goes to your Downloads folder, ready for an editor. Links copied in the app and links copied from instagram.com in a browser work the same way.
Switch to the MP3 tab and you get the sound of that reel as an audio file: the voice, the song, the dialogue, whatever is in the clip. Reels audio downloads are mostly wanted for a ringtone, for a sound they plan to reuse in their own reel, or to keep the narration from a recipe or workout they can listen to later.
The MP3 is made from the video's own audio, so it is a copy of what Instagram served rather than a remaster. There is no 320kbps option here on purpose: reel audio arrives well below that, and a bigger file would only use more space. Our 320kbps page shows why a higher bitrate cannot add detail that was never in the source.
Some posts reach us with no audio at all. Instagram mutes a video when a rights holder claims the sound, and some sounds only play for signed-in viewers. When that happens the page says so rather than handing you a silent file.
A reel link (instagram.com/reel/...), a video post (/p/...) and an older IGTV link (/tv/...) all work, whether you copy them in the app or from the address bar in a browser. In the app, tap the three dots on the post, then Link, then Copy link. Tracking bits on the end such as ?igsh= or ?utm_source= are fine, you do not need to clean them off.
Photos, Stories and live broadcasts are not supported, and nothing from a private account can be downloaded. Insta links pasted from a chat or a saved note work as long as they point at a public post.
Paste a link and the page shows the caption, the account, when it was posted, likes and comments, and how long the clip runs, so you can check you have the right post before anything is saved. Then pick video or audio. Each one is a single button because Instagram serves one version of a reel, so a list of resolutions would offer a choice that does not exist.

Download it as MP3 first. Android lets you set any MP3 as a ringtone from Settings. An iPhone needs the file converted to a ringtone in GarageBand or iTunes before it appears in your sound list.

No. Instagram videos are not watermarked, so there is nothing to remove. A logo in the picture was added by the creator, and a reel reposted from TikTok keeps the TikTok mark for the same reason.
